๐ŸคŽHelping Hearts

This is an ACTIVE club for 2023-2024.

What is this club about?

At Helping Hearts, we aspire to make a difference in the less-privileged individuals in our community. Knowing the needy can achieve more if given the opportunity, we were inspired to create a club to provide assistance to them. Our club raises awareness about homelessness and works towards aiding the less-fortunate members of our community. This club not only serves the homeless, but also our members, as they will improve communication skills in community associations and organizations regarding what steps we can take to reduce the issue of homelessness. The money we raise will be for local homeless charities, to create care packages, and to distribute food to the homeless. Our club is unique because members have direct contact with the less fortunate in a safe and supervised environment. We focus on direct community awareness, which means being involved and active in the community. As the only known club at Foothill that helps the homeless, we are very active in trying to help our community by raising funds and donating to our partner shelter. Many of our events are related to community service and focused on others, rather than self-interests or individualistic traits. Our main focus is giving back to the community while bringing happiness to others and our members. Unlike other clubs, we will provide hands-on experience to benefit others and are constantly looking for ways to raise awareness and help with the struggles of the less fortunate. We plan to have meetings, school fundraisers, and donation drive pickups at school, but also plan to hold events such as restaurant fundraisers, care packing, blanket making, and food packaging. Meetings will likely be every two weeks, at least, once a month, and be held on campus. School fundraisers will be split on campus, but we hope to sell some food like a bake sale or find a business that can cater as long as it is approved by the admin. We will host donation drives at school, meaning that our members can drop off items to officers at school and officers will then deliver the items to the shelter. In order to raise money outside of school, we are going to try doing restaurant fundraisers. Anyone can join our club because there shouldn't be any requirements to offer kindness and time to help others. We feel like our members should gain community service hours through our off-campus events but this will have to be approved by admin. Most importantly, we want our members to make a difference in the community and become more aware of the less fortunate.

I want to escalate something. How do I contact the Club Council?

The Club Council is a central body governing the operations of all clubs on campus. They are not involved with the specifics of the club, as that responsibility is shared by the club officers.
